The Silpat fit perfectly into the pan.

...

I'll test it with this recipe.

...

"How is the oven door working?" Roberto asked.

"No problems. In fact, I think the oven, overall, is working better than before." I said, drunk with ideas of baking my way through the weekend.

...

Friday: Brownies

...

Saturday: Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

...

Sunday: Granola Bars

...

"They're chewy." I said, breaking off another piece.

They'd gone from crisp-in-the-container-in-the-bread-box to chewy-on-the-plate-with-brownies-under-the-cake-dome.

"I like them both ways." I said.

  2. Oh, how wonderfully homey and good. I crave peanut butter cookies, and oatmeal ones. I shall have to mix them as you did. :-)

  4. I'm glad to see the problem with the oven door has intensified your passion for baking. Do you know I can't bake cookies at all? They just come out with the wrong texture and the worst thing is, you live too far away.

  12. I love oatmeal cookies and have added all sorts of things- raisins, chocolate, coconut, but never even thought of oatmeal peanut butter cookies. I love peanut butter. Something new for me to try. Thank you, my dear.

  13. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is having a logical reason to bake cookies - all the time. It's only normal this time of year, right! These cookies look so good!
