For this time

I would like a nice apple cake recipe. One that requires an abundance of cinnamon. Not a lot of sugar. Olive oil is my preference, but butter will suffice. A cake that's flavor will bloom when kept in cold storage. Tasting elegant with espresso while leaving one feeling virtuous with long drip.

  1. Did you find one? I don't think I've made an apple cake. Nancy's tart looks pretty delicious... http://nancyvienneau.com/blog/recipes/a-perfect-apple-tart-and-a-peek-into-luisa-weisss-berlin-kitchen/

  2. Here's the one I use: http://eatgood4life.blogspot.com/2011/03/rustic-apple-cake.html. I like that it's mostly tender apples with a little bit of moist cake to fill in the holes. However, because I'm me, I tweak it a bit and add cinnamon and a pinch of salt.

    1. This looks good. Another apple recipe I will be trying (w/cinnamon). Thanks, Brie. And thank you, Tracy, for putting the desire out there.

  3. Again, not a "cake", but I thought of this too. http://andbabycakesthree.blogspot.com/2011/10/apple-yorkshire-pudding.html

  4. Oh I really want an apple cake as you describe! And Brie's recipe with the apples held together with cake (and cinnamon!) sounds perfect. Though Denise's tart and yorkshire pud are also enticing ... what a happy thing to have a few appley choices. Beautiful colours in your photo too. Happy baking.

    1. I might have to make it up. But I know it's out there. It has to be.
