Another day, another train

IMG_5932

Today we took the train over to the Cinque Terre—Vernazza.

Traveling by train through tunnels, following the coast, it's breathtaking.

A lovely small village—yet teaming with an obtrusive amount of tourist.

  1. I recall my first visit there, in the late 1990s. It was the tail end of October. So quiet and beautiful. My last visit was in 2010. It is very different now, with National Park status and all. Still, this area will always have a place in my heart. Gorgeous photograph, Tracy. I love the color and perspective.

    1. It's funny what one can capture without even realizing it. When I was going through the photos I came across this one and paused. The pinks, salmons, greens and grays are an incredible happy accident. I'm glad you noticed it. If it hadn't been so cold and damp that day I think we may have made the hike over to one of the other towns. Next time.
